When we fall asleep, close our eyes, and the outside world becomes a distant hum, we look inward—into our memories, dreams, and worries.
In the painting, the open eye symbolises our curiosity. Hands are presented in a gesture of acceptance for what the dream brings. Moths represent our subconscious thoughts, while the lizard is a manifestation of our suppressed emotions. Everything is surrounded by organic shapes that are familiar, yet at the same time alien.
In the dream, we turn our inner eye to the side that is always in shadows.
