In this painting, I explore the emotions that accompany us when we move between places and cultures. Losing our roots means we have to grow new ones, inner roots that connect us from within. New traditions, places, and people become what grounds us in the present, yet without the risk of being torn away when we move again. At the same time, in every place we’ve lived, we leave a trace, a small disruption symbolised by droplets breaking the surface.
